We have added an option in the App Settings: Messages section—Show Unread Preview on Hover.
Toggle this option on to see a preview of your 5 latest unread message threads. This will display when you hover over Messages (speech bubble icon, left-hand most column).
Here are the basic steps to get to this option: 3-dot More menu (left-hand most column) –> Settings –> App settings –> General –> Messages
