When you sign up for PastorsLine, you may choose to use one or more new, hosted numbers instead of text-enabling your church landline. Churches do this, so that different staff members can have their own unique numbers. While this practice is part of a top digital communications strategy, it means your people may not know with whom they are texting or speaking. So, PastorsLine now offers a virtual business card (Vcard) option.

Vcard options

What is a Vcard?

A Vcard is an electronic contact information card that contains pre-filled details about you or your company. Think virtual business card or personal card. When someone receives your Vcard, they can easily save it to their contacts with just a tap.

How to Send a Vcard in PastorsLine

You can send a Vcard in two ways:

  1. Quick Message: In the Quick Message option, you’ll find the ability to add a Vcard.
  2. Advanced Compose: When using the Advanced Compose feature, you can also include a Vcard.

Customization and Editing

PastorsLine allows you to customize and edit your Vcard information:

– Share specific user information from your account with current and/or new users

– Send contact information for up to five contacts at once

– Edit the details you want to include in your Vcard

Benefits of Using Vcards

Sending Vcards through PastorsLine offers several advantages:

  1. Branding: Help people understand who you are by sharing your brand information.
  2. Easy Contact Sharing: Quickly share additional contact details, even if the recipient already has your number. This gives your people a quick ‘one tap plus click’ save option to make sure that they are saving even if you have been using PastorsLine for a while.
  3. iOS Filtering Bypass: When a contact is saved in a person’s phone, your messages may bypass certain filters.
  4. Improved Media Rendering: If your contact is saved on the recipient’s phone, video attachments and links will render differently, actually showing thumbnails and previews.

We encourage all PastorsLine users, both new and existing, to take advantage of this feature by sending Vcards to your contacts and asking them to save your information on their phones.

The Vcard feature is currently in beta, and we look forward to your feedback as we continue to improve and enhance this new addition.
